What It Is

Pallet Rack Design Software

RackCity is browser-based pallet rack design software for pallet racking distributors and manufacturers, warehouse designers, and commercial real estate agents. Sketch a building, drop in a zone, and RackCity generates the rack rows automatically — back-to-back, single-row, or double-deep — with a live pallet position count as you go. It works as a pallet position calculator and a full racking design software in one browser tab, with no install, no license, and no AutoCAD.

Or skip the drawing entirely: upload a building flyer or site plan PDF and RackCity's AI reads it to draft a layout, or describe your warehouse in plain English and RackCity's AI warehouse layout generator drafts the whole design — building, zones, doors, and offices — for you to refine.

Because you can update every pallet rack layout in real time, it's the fastest way to run a quick racking-layout feasibility check — validate aisle widths against your forklift fleet and see how many positions a building actually holds before you commit to steel. Every design also exports a bill of materials (BOM) and a budgetary quote, so you leave with a parts list and pricing, not just a drawing. See your warehouse before it's built, then iterate on three variants in the time it takes to draw one by hand.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is RackCity.ai?
RackCity.ai is a pallet racking design software that lets pallet racking distributors and manufacturers, warehouse designers, and commercial real estate agents plan rack layouts, calculate pallet positions, and validate aisle widths and clearances before any steel is ordered — all in the browser, no install required.
How much does RackCity cost?
RackCity is free during early access. Accounts created during early access lock in a founding-member rate when paid plans launch — so create a free account now and you're automatically in.
Does RackCity use AI?
Yes. Describe your warehouse in plain English — dimensions, clear height, rack type, doors, and offices — and RackCity's AI drafts a complete pallet rack layout in seconds, which you can then fine-tune by hand.
Do I need to install anything to use RackCity?
No. RackCity runs entirely in any modern browser. There's nothing to download, no license keys, and no AutoCAD required.
What types of racking does RackCity support?
Currently RackCity supports selective pallet racking — single rows, back-to-backs, and double-deep — with per-zone control over frame depth, beam length, aisle widths, and column burying. Speed bays, tunnels, and dead-bay handling are all built in. Cantilever, drive-in, pushback, and other specialty rack types aren't supported yet, but we're working on that!
Who is RackCity built for?
Pallet racking distributors and manufacturers, warehouse designers, and commercial real estate agents who need fast, accurate layouts and pallet position counts without firing up desktop AutoCAD.
How can commercial real estate brokers and landlords use RackCity?
Show prospective tenants a building's actual storage capacity before they sign the lease. Upload the building flyer, generate a rack layout, and share the pallet position count — a fast feasibility study that turns an empty shell into a quantified warehouse. It's an easy way to add value to a listing and strengthen deals.
Can I order or install racking directly from RackCity outputs?
RackCity layouts, BOMs, and budgets are planning and estimation tools — they are not structural engineering advice. Every installation has site-specific factors (seismic zone, slab capacity, permits), so have your final configuration reviewed by a qualified structural engineer and your local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ), in line with ANSI/RMI MH16.1, before ordering or installing.
